Martin Tighe is a Melbourne artist. His main art practice is painting and he has held many solo exhibitions. He has also been a finalist in the Archibald Prize. However, at art college Martin majored in ceramics and after many years he has only recently returned to this art form.
His pots are thrown on kick wheel in his studio. His ceramics are influenced by the work of English potter, Edmund de Waal and American artist Robert Motherwell.
