Artist Statement, Shinhee Ma

I want to create work which is playful and brings pleasure and feelings of comfort. I like something that is not only pleasant to look at but also gives pleasure in use.

Since we live a busy city life with tight schedules and being so physically and mentally dependent on smart phones and computers, most of us don’t have the privilege of being close to nature every day.

I want to create work where I can introduce nature inside homes or indoors so people can enjoy the garden life in their rooms and being connected to nature every day. My hanging wall vases and framed table vases can be decorated with either fresh or dry flowers and will add a cheerful mood and brightness to any room.
